The Kids Aren't Alright

He didn’t recognise this creature stood in front of him. All the air in the room was gone.
“I’m hungry,” she repeated, her voice soft and sweet. It made his skin crawl. “You don’t look very tasty, but you’ll have to do.”
July 1999
Fourteen-year-old Nicky has been missing for eight months, and his friends still go out every day into the fields and farmland surrounding the village, to the place where they found his bloody Converse trainer floating in a stream. Something strange is lurking in hedgerows, a disturbing presence from the ancient English countryside, creeping into the lives of a group of teenagers. When Nicky’s twin sister goes missing too, it begins a twisted chain of events that leaves their friends wondering who they can trust and just what evil is lurking in their quiet rural village.
And No Birds Sing is a sun-bleached, nostalgic, coming-of-age story in the tradition of British folk horror, perfect for 90's kids, weird kids, fans of Stranger Things, and anyone who was ever scared to look out of their bedroom window at night but not sure why...

"Is this what it's like to be an adult? Making tea and worrying about death?"
It's been four years since Nicky Meyer's mysterious disappearance, and his friends have continued to grow up and grow apart without him.
In the caravan at the bottom of her overgrown garden, introverted eighteen year old artist Ziggy finds her unsettling dreams blurring into reality. A monstrous beast from her paintings begins to haunt her estranged best friend. To save him, she must untangle a web of folklore, trauma and forgotten memories, forcing her to to confront the very real monsters; both magical and human, that tore their world apart years ago.
